Best Time to Visit: This tour is ideal throughout the year, except during the monsoon season. Spring brings lush landscapes and diverse flora and fauna. Autumn bathes the scenery in golden hues, while winter offers crisp air and crystal-clear skies perfect for capturing mountain vistas. Regardless of the season, Bhutan exudes tranquil peace and happiness, with traditional festivals celebrated alongside ancient customs, creating a serene and festive atmosphere.
Days 1-2: Arrival in Paro, Move to Thimphu
- Witness the majestic Himalayas including Mt. Everest during your flight.
- Receive a traditional welcome at Paro International Airport.
- Explore Paro’s key sights: Ringpung Dzong, Paro Museum, Kichu Monastery, and Drugyal Dzong.
- Savor lunch at a premier local restaurant in Paro.
- Journey to Thimphu in the evening, Bhutan’s capital, and cultural heart, known for its royal history, preserved heritage, and modern amenities.
- Visit National Memorial Chorten, National Library, Painting School, Changangkha Lhakhang, Giant Buddha Statue, and Thimphu Dzong.
Day 03: Thimphu to Trongsa
- Enjoy a scenic drive through valleys and mountain passes, noting the sparse human settlements and seasonal migration practices.
- Experience the serene beauty of Dochula Pass and the historic significance of Wangdue and Trongsa.
- Dochula Pass, Wangduephodrang Dzong, Trongsa Dzong, Ta Dzong, Chendebji Chorten, and enjoy views from Trongsa Viewpoint.
Days 4-5: Trongsa to Bumthang
- Drive to Bumthang, stopping at Yotongla pass and the Yathra weaving center.
- Discover Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, filled with legendary sites and natural beauty.
- Visit Jakar Dzong, Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjay Lhakhang, Kenchosum Lhakang, Tamshing Monastery, Mebar Tsho, and the Honey Production Centre.
Day 06: Bumthang to Punakha
- Depart early for Phobjikha, the winter home of black-necked cranes.
- Enjoy breakfast in Trongsa and lunch in Wangdue before arriving in Punakha.
Day 07: Punakha to Thimphu
- Explore Punakha Dzong, hike to Khamsum Yuelay Namgyal stupa, and visit Chhemi Lhakhang.
- Return to Thimphu after lunch.
Day 08: Thimphu to Paro
- Hike to Tango and Cheri Monasteries, significant Buddhist learning and meditation centers.
- Proceed to Paro in the afternoon.
Day 09: Tiger Nest Hike
- Embark on the memorable hike to Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched on a cliff.
- Learn about its rich history and enjoy breathtaking views.
Day 10: Departure
- Depart from Paro International Airport, concluding your journey with a farewell to your Bhutanese guide and driver.
