Additional noteworthy species include the Beautiful Nuthatch, Black-necked Stork, Blackish-breasted Babbler, Blyth’s Kingfisher, Gray-crowned Prinia, Great Hornbill, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Rufous-throated Wren-babbler, Satyr Tragopan, and White-throated Bushchat. Day 01: Guwahati to Samdrup Jongkhar

  • Arrival at Guwahati airport; transfer to Samdrup Jongkhar.
  • First birdwatching session: Potential sightings of Lineated Barbet, Asian Fairy Bluebirds, and Great Hornbill.

Day 02: Samdrup Jongkhar to Narphung

  • 41 km drive with birdwatching stops.
  • Bird species might include Little Bunting, Rufous-bellied Eagle, and various hornbills.

Day 03: Birdwatching in Narphung

  • A full day of birdwatching in Narphung’s lush forests.
  • Look for Beautiful Nuthatch, Black-faced Warbler, and several hornbill species.

Day 04: Narphung to Trashigang

Drive to Trashigang, spotting Mountain Hawk Eagle, Red-rumped Swallow, and Tibetan Siskin. 

Day 05: Trashigang to Mongar

  • The journey includes the scenic Korila Pass.
  • Possible sightings: laughingthrushes, Pygmy Blue Flycatcher, Bonelli’s Eagle.

Day 06: Mongar to Yongkola

  • Travel downhill to prime birdwatching spots.
  • Target species: Ward’s Trogon and Rufous-necked Hornbill.

Day 07: Birdwatching in Yongkola

  • Explore diverse forest habitats for exotic birds and mammals.
  • Search for Greater Rufous-headed Parrotbills, Black-Throated Parrotbills, and various Fulvettas.

Day 08: Yongkola to Norbugang

  • Excellent birding environment with diverse species including Mountain Scope Owl and Hill Partridge.

Day 09: Norbugang to Bumthang

  • Drive through Thrumshingla National Park with high-altitude birding.
  • Bumthang: Visit ancient temples and monasteries.

Day 10: Bumthang to Trongsa

  • Morning cultural sights in Bumthang.
  • Cross Yotongla Pass with diverse bird sightings including warblers and Rosy Pipit.

Day 11: Trongsa to Tingtibi

  • Drive through diverse vegetation zones rich with birdlife.
  • Spot Great Hornbill, Crested Bunting, and endangered Golden Langur.

Day 12: Tingtibi Bird Festival

Day 13: Tingtibi to Gelephu
